I think her singing is p good. Songs aight. Production is still a little too clean and middle of the road for my taste, but its okay.

Reading DG's comment, I think the strongest part of this song is that is simple. Traditional rock band, the instruments are staying in their lane and playing for the song -- not flying off in every stupid direction.

I can't really say "oh her experimenting days are over" when we just got two pretty experimental albums in the last year. I think a smaller, more focused, more introspectively ambitious record could be phenomenal.

Strong simple, pop experimentation, introspectively ambitious, complex one note, sexually ambiguous straight men, double A-sided full length album, virgin Ringo, free blu-ray...

I think that would be the best thing for Ringo too.

But I'm not getting my hopes up. I expect more NIPPONs.

However, I'm hoping you're not thinking MM 2 when you mean 'small', I don't want that, it be pretty embarrassing nowadays. But it could have a Ringo version of Oishii Kitesu on it :-p

Nope, how about a Ringo version of Kate Bush's Aerial? Or not old enough for that yet?

Shiina's been announced as one of the performers at this year's Fuji Rock Festival that takes place July 24-26. The specific day of her performance hasn't been determined yet.

Also, the site for the Ringo Expo '14 video release is up, complete with cover art and youtube previews:

Edit: Here's the announcement on the Fuji Rock page: http://www.fujirockfestival.com/news/news008.html

I sorta like the cover, sorta hate it.

AND OH GOD THE AUDIO IS BAD. SO MUCH REVERB! Sound like someone's put on a shitty 'large hall' preset in winamp. WTF UNIVERSAL. WTF GARBLED NIPPON.
I can only hope that the Blu Ray sounds better.

How much focus on Bambi and the other one do they wanna give? DAMN YOU PEOPLE THAT CARE ABOUT THEM!

Anyway, my premature bitching is over, lets talk about 最果てが見たい:
Not sure if I like the Sayuri one or the Ringo one.

Those needing a reminder (can't blame you- I imagine there's quite a few people scratching their heads right now):
Sayuri

And Ringo's:
Ringo

What an incredible light show! Hayari looks great. Can't wait to get my copy of this.

I've lost track of all the new Ringo dvds I need to buy. I remember being a teenager and wishing for my favorite artists to put out DVDs with no luck.

How long are an artist's set at Fuji Rock Festival? May be worth going to if she isn't on tour when I'm in Japan.
