American Idol

First off, I don't think I would ever go purchase the album of someone who has won American Idol, or listen to it for that matter. I just really get into the show, but as soon as its over, then it's like, "oh well."

Anyways, does anybody watch the show, and, if you do, then who do you like or dislike from this season? My favorites would have to be Ramiele Malubay- because she looks so cute and squishy, as well as Jason Castro. David Archuleta is just overrated. :(

Would this go in Off Topic Music?

Simon is always right, if not too lenient.

I like the girl with the skunk hair. I don't know her name and I don't know if she's any good, but I like the skunk hair.

Simon knows what he's talking about. Most of the American Idol performances that I've seen do sound/look like they belong on some cheap plywood stage in some crummy dive on Karaoke Thursday, even if that insult/"criticism" has been beaten into the ground like a dead horse.

I find myself agreeing with Simon most of the time. Although I don't like when he hates on my people, which is pretty much every episode.

Skunk hair? This little lady? http://i30.tinypic.com/11sngih.jpg

Skunk hair was the latest to get the boot. She was a bit of a one trick pony anyway with her Janis Joplin gimmick.

Her "You Can't Do That" was terible -- and i was all jazzed cuz its a relatively obscure one. (Well, not a big single.)

Her Back in the USSR was better tho, but yeah, one-trick pony

As far as all the Beatles songs go from the past two weeks, my favorite had to be Chikezie's (sp?) version of She's A Woman. Not only a more obscure song choice, but the arrangement was ultra-cool. That emo version of Eleanor Rigby worked well too (despite the goofy words: "wearing" his socks in the night when there's nobody there)--he was far too cocky with Day Tripper though. The teary version of Yesterday was actually good too.

Big stinkers included dreadlock boy's songs, especially Michelle, and that butchering of Eight Days A Week which does not work for country line dancin'. Ooh, and I almost forgot I Saw Her Standing There done as what?--Wayne Newton imitating Elvis?--I don't know what that was.

And Ramiele, I Should Have Known Better? There was the golden opportunity to pull out a Ringo-inspired Yer Blues, and she missed it. Alright, granted her style is more on the line with Utada than Ringo, but who else could get away with it? Okay, maybe the Irish girl could have done it with her voice. But I am thankful that we weren't subjected to Janis Joplin imitating SR!

Reminded me of Thrice's cover of Eleanor Rigby (a guilty pleasure )

:( Ramiele Malubay went home... well, I'm done with this season.

Maybe not.

Darn, in my office pool I had Maou making that post. I'm out $5. =(

=P

She wasn't the best singer. ...But she was adorable so I wanted her around longer.
