Albums to look forward to in 2010!

Mine is...

Janelle Monae: Metropolis Suites II & III: The Arch Android

I like this woman: catchy music, awesome voice, eccentric, vaguely experimental (Maybe a bit too self-aware with the sci-fi concept and describes herself as 'genre hopping'), and one amazing song on an otherwise intriguing-but-kindabarebones EP. Her first proper album comes out in 2010, and although I promised myself never to become a 'fan' again, if she lives up to her potential I'll have no choice but to. She says it'll be an album of self-discovery which means it'll have emotion and anger and joy and stuff and all those other ingredients that make up a KILLER ALBUM (Supposedly)

What are you anticipating? (Non-SR/TJ of course) I want to know what to look out for, or be surprised that, I dunno, Hanson are making a comeback or something.

The 2010s are going to be the best decade in music ever! I just know it!
=P

Marina and the Diamonds: Family Jewels

I love all of the songs I've heard from it so far, like Mowgli's Road, Hollywood, I Am Not A Robot (check out the videos on her Youtube channel.) Also, "omg you look just like Shakira, no no Catherine Zeta, actually my name's Marina" = best line ever.

Marina

Marina and the Diamonds debut album, The Family Jewels. Making a huge splash in the UK scene with her singles Mowgli's Road, I'm Not a Robot, and Obsessions, this album is definitely one to look forward to. In a way she feels like the more intelligent and legit heir to Lady Gaga's throne. her debut album is a self described body of work largely inspired by the seduction of commercialism, modern social values, family and female sexuality. sound familiar? it comes out in early february.

on the American front I'm looking forward to some new project of some sort by Tori Amos (most likely live recordings or a dvd/b-side set of some sort, she released two studio albums in 2009, Abnormally Attracted to Sin and Midwinter Graces, so probably not an original work of new material), and the new album from Rasputina, Sister Kinderhook.

Japanese-wise and not Ringo related, I'm looking forward to YUKI's 5th original album coming out in March, Ureshikute Dakiaou.

Yes. I didn't know what to expect from Volume 1, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. I'm not usually into music that soft, but there's no denying the top-notch songwriting.

Looking forward to this if they go back to the style of the first two albums.

This is why I started this thread. Thanks!

I really enjoyed that Hollywood song by Marina...I didn't get into the other songs that much, but thanks for the heads up
