(i hope this is the right thread to post this in?)

I found the theme! Maybe I'm the only one who hasn't realized this until now, but I'll ignore the risk of sounding stupid.
Mayonaka wa Junketsu - MIDNIGHT
Sid to Hakuchuumu - DAYDREAM
Aisaika no Choushoku - Breakfast - MORNING

Also, if you look inside the folder of the single, you see that there are three versions of the cover - each marked in the lower right corner so you can see which song they "belong" to. For you who don't own it, I've taken pictures of my copy.

Wow, Linnéa, that's awesome!

I just got a copy of this recently (first pressing, surprisingly enough), and the little piece of paper that folds around the side of the case has an extra picture on it. Here's my scan of it:

I didn't like the artwork for this release until I saw this picture, and I don't think I've seen it anywhere else online, so I figured I should probably scan it myself. Apologies for the quality...I don't really know what I'm doing. XD

Wow, how did you get a first pressing, Zac?? o_o You're so lucky! >_< Anyway, thanks for that scan--I think it's the best picture in this single, too... (I don't like her with shaved eyebrows. @_@)

I've noticed the night/day/morning theme in the pictures, but not in the song titles! (I'm so slow... =_=;;) Thanks for pointing that out, Linnea!

I'm kind of confused by the sequence, though. Shouldn't it be morning, day, night? But if it really is backwards, then I wonder what story took place. Why did she put on lipstick during the day and then smear her make-up (or cry) in the morning? Maybe it has something to do with waiting for her husband (like in the "Aisaika no Choshoku" lyrics, I think) but I can't make the connection. >_<;;

i think
smeared lipstick = a night of hot sex.
knowing ringo, it could be a possibility.:)

This is my favorite single. <3 I'm sad "Mayonaka wa Junketsu" was never included on an actual album, like all the other single songs were, but it's just fine on itself. The absolute perfect single, in my opinion!

Glathannus 2007.04.03 05:39 PM

CatchFiveBats, that image is also on the back of the vinyl case, and since the vinyl came out roughly a week before the CD... (according to the dates printed on my goods at home anyway)

That just means the first-press CD is copying the vinyl! :p

I also agree with frecklegirl that this is the one single to rule them all. It's good enough not to be associated with an album, and all three of the songs are great. With all the other singles, there's always at least one song I don't like so much. (except for Koufukuron)

The only single that comes close is Kono yo no Kagiri. If there was any other version of Karisome Otome included than the actual one, I think it would make the list for me.
But damn Mayonaka is great.
