the sequel to my TJ covers poll, a mammoth poll of all Ringo's solo covers (only recorded covers), you get to choose 3 (since there are 24 covers to choose from :))

mine: Yer Blues, Momen no Handkerchief and Unconditional Love

Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, Momen no Handkerchief and Love is Blind for me.

Unconditional Love and Yer Blues were runner-ups.

3, huh? That's just cruel.

Okay, I can't take Love Is Blind because you want only recorded versions and I'm partial to the Gekokujo Xstasy version. And you don't say "best," only "favorites," so even though Yer Blues and Unconditional Love are superlative they aren't my favorites.

That narrows it down to: Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Starting Over, and Momen no Handkerchief with Kareha right behind it.

Runners-up: everything else. :p

@Nimh, by only recorded covers I meant I didn't include covers she did live but was never recorded on an LP or single like EM's Minato-machi Juusan-banchi because then the list would be too long, but live versions of the covers here are definitely accepted

I just noticed Kageriyuku Heya was on the poll. GREAT song that definitely deserves some love to.

(secret: I've always kinda preferred Shiina's "Starting Over" to John's)

I totally agree about Kageriyuka Heya and Starting Over, I think most of Ringo's covers are better than the original (incl. the TJ covers)

On the other hand, The Dirty Mac's version of Yer Blues is in a whole other league than Shiina's.
