Tokyo Jihen SS/AW Remix w/ Added Instruments
1 Attachment(s)
Here's a remix of the much hated song SS/AW from Variety. I took a lot of liberty with it. I replaced the drums, bass, and piano in it. I also changed the verse chords. The ending is virtually untouched aside from overdubbing the drums to make it fit better.
I was going to make a remix of the Variety album but I know it's already been done and why beat a dead horse. Anyway, any thoughts or criticisms are welcome. |
Here it is in Youtube form if you don't want to download it. Or for the lurkers out there |
The vocals are pretty low in the mix, but sounds good otherwise. Why was this a notoriously hated song? I wasn't around for the Variety hate. I like that album, actually. Never understood the hate for it, honestly.

Thanks for listening. Yeah, the song's stereo field was really narrow so I couldn't really fully lift the vocals. I had to keep them low so it wouldn't get too cluttered with the other instruments. I wish I could get solo vocal tracks for TJ songs, that'd be the day

Great job again, Hedgehog! SR's music is hard to remix considering there are very few instrumentals out there to help extract vocals with. :\

I like it, it's more upbeat, radio-friendly even. Have you heard Jihad's remix? It's interesting how you two diverged from the same song.

Thanks, EntryNo1 and TurtleFu.

However, I was disappointed he got rid of my two favorite songs off the album. So I made my own redo and the tracklisting was: 1 Killer Tune (with added intro section to make it sound more like an opener) 2 OSCA 3 Kaban No Nakami 4 Fukushuu 5 Kuroneko-do 6 SS/AW (Remix) 7 Pinnochio 8 Tsukigime-hime 9 Metro 10 Shiseikatsu 11 Sake to Geko (The ending segues beautifully into PYCD) 12 Put Your Camera Down It's basically a slightly different version than what Jihad did. With this arrangement it might be my favorite Tokyo Jihen album. |
