Everyone forgets that Ringo Jihen was Loire's community, and that he completely supported the creation of (and migration to) a new community, while it was the rogue co-admin who was desperate to keep members at least partially at Ringo Jihen.

Plus during the migration, Loire had equally as much authority as the other admins here. Now he seems to have lost interest in Shiina Ringo and Tokyo Jihen, but he's absent by his own choice - nobody suggested that he leave, and there was no master plan that the administration would be Americans only.

Loire is not only Italian, but also has always had the power to appoint moderators who didn't necessarily have to be American either! So far no admins have taken the opportunity to appoint moderators, but if that time ever comes, I don't feel that it's fair to hold a person's nationality for or against them. A staff member either has specific personality flaws you dislike, or they don't - and whether or not those flaws fit a national stereotype, is irrelevant.

I was a member of an independent Ultima Online server, where all Italian and Russian IPs got blacklisted, and I do mean all. The official reason was that these people would mostly band together into their own guilds, keep to themselves, and share massive exploits with each other. I was furious at the administration's decision because I knew at least one Italian player who was a decent person, and that ruling really wasn't fair to him. I started a heated topic about that, and almost got banned. I would've left, but a lot of cool people who didn't know about the situation, were still hanging around, and even if I bitched to everyone some more after my first rebellious topic disappeared - we really had no place to go.

So my point is, I don't have a specific preference toward Americans or native English speakers, and I'll stand up for people who aren't. Some non-native speakers have a charm that transcends the language barrier, plus last I saw, EmilScherbe had the highest Reputation in this community, after complaining that the system would be biassed toward native English speakers.

Why do you keep posting this kind of stuff? Op2 isn't that bad. He is a very dedicated fan, confused with the term FANBOY, and a good person, although he doesn't always think about his actions. He banned people that were talking shit about him, which would be a natural reaction if it happened to anyone else. Yes, he shouldn't have actually banned you 3, but you don't need to act like you just defeated Hitler or something.

When he rejoined EM, I think he was one of the most valuable members here, always posting just news and other useful resources for others. The only clash he had was with Tokyo Jihad, and it went both ways. For that reason, Tokyo Jihad was equally as responsible, especially after Tokyo Jihad publicly posted his password.

Everyone said the only reason he should be banned was if it was indeed him who posted the porn. You assumed it was him, and he was banned, although denying that he posted it. You then found out he didn't post the porn. For such a valuable member, he had no reason to be perma-banned. Don't say that he had 'multiple' reasons to be banned or that it was needed for a long time because of a disagreement.

He isn't a bad person. I know history is written by the victors, but this is way too extreme. Also, I love how every thread dealing with this issue regards me as just a vindictive bystander.

And, for the record, I have no problem with Op2 anymore. I've moved on since this forum opened and couldn't care less that he was around. I wouldn't care if he was still here as long as he didn't act like an asshat.

Why the fuck did he have beef with me tho?? I was fine with him all along. I asked him to be responsible at the HF thing, I didnt agree with that, but I had nothing against him. He took it personal apparently, so thats his problem. He banned people for talking shit -- in fucking private. This is easily avoided when you don't go through peoples PMs (after he banned them.) Maou and I were banned for seemingly getting on his nerves cuz we differed in opinion -- only glath's ban can be possibly justified as "trash talking" despite it was not in public.

He is THE REASON the objectionable content was posted. EMF isnt THAT popular that my misguided "token" that a bunch of strangers jump on it to trash it. There's no denying it.

Forgetting all the porn stuff and arrogant bannings on his behalf, he also made some pretty harsh personal attacks. I can understand somebody messing up, but nobody trips up and accidentally acts like a complete arsehole. Complete arseholes act like complete arseholes. And I don't see how him having some genuinely helpful posts automatically makes up for everything in the past, and any other negative actions. He should have been perma-banned because he had fifty bazillion chances, and acted badly time and time again to numerous different extremities.

I remember asking Glath "Why hasn't he been banned after that" after one incident or another... at least a timed ban, but he wasn't for quite a while. He kept going til it got to the point where some decent members were becoming more distant; so if sacrificing him and a few of his contribution posts means a better, more peaceful community then great. It's not like the guy acted like a saint for a year then did one little thing and was banned.
