World Cup log:

Uruguay 0 x 0 France
Yeah, Henry claiming the hand was lol. France without Zidane is pretty average.

Korea 2 x 0 Greece
Korea did good. The greeks never scored a goal in the WC. It seems that it will no be this time either.

LOL France is embarrassed just because they have Henry. He's such a loser. Never did like his "I'm so innocent" face. "C'est n'est pas ma faute!!" Blech...
Heck why don't I cheer for Korea? At least they can score! YEAH!! Twice already!!

Interesting article that as a subtopic explores why my country sucks at the world's most popular game.

How a Soccer Star Is Made

Insightful? I don't know. I do know that all but the best of journalists, being implicitly generalists, hop from one topic to another without ever really grasping the subtilties, but this was still intriguing to me.

Double post, but felt that making it a separate post would be less contextually jarring than tacking it on to the end of the last post.

The Fail

Cheesy "Soccer = Life" time: Sometimes everyone around you thinks that you might fail. And you fail. And you have to deal with that.

SakeIt2Me 2010.06.13 08:58 AM

 Oh no, that's not right. It's actually:
Soccer > Life.
So you better play perfectly no matter how bad your life sucks.

I love poutine.

zarya 2010.06.13 09:22 AM

poutine >>> soccer
and hockey.

SakeIt2Me 2010.06.13 11:15 AM

Amen. Imagine if they served poutine at footie or hockey games...ahh...
I could sit there with that bit of heaven, content to watch my favourite multi-million-dollar athletes fail miserably.

Poutine is the lord's candy. I can't wait to get back home and get some. Buffalo's proximity to Canada is one of its greatest assets.

World Cup log:
Germany 4 x 0 Australia
Servia 0 x 1 Ghana
Netherlands 2 x 0 Denmark
Japan 1 x 0 Cameroon

Germany and Netherlands did what everybody expected them to do (wich is not very easy in the first game). Japan is a surprise. Very limited team, but tactically consistent. Still hard to get through the group stage yet, but they got some chance now.
