Junpei's Name Spelled Wrong?

http://www.jumpeishiina.com/

Do you think it matters to Shiina Junpei that his name is spelled wrong in the website URL? They spell it "Junpei" throughout the whole website, so I figured that this was either an odd mistake, or that I'm probably just missing a crucial bit of information about the Japanese language. Can anyone fill me in?

That's just another way to romanize it. Just like some people write "Kanpai" (Cheers) "Kampai".

when you have the two sounds butted up together, they temp to make the 'M' sound. So its not "wrong" its just "another way."

I'm assuming こんばんは is koNbanwa? I kind of missed the point of that since I don't know Japanese... :B

Nothing strange about it. It's assimilation. And there's no single M in Japanese. The Nish ん is the closest one. Actually it took me a long time to figure out ん is not exactly N either. It's just a nasal sound, you don't have have to put your tongue onto the top of your mouth. In that sense it's more like "ng" to me.

So anywoes!

I might see Junpei live tonight - granted I'm able to go "early" from work (that is, not work until I have to run to catch the last train!)

And I'm actually looking forward to it. :D It might turn out to be one of those experiences.
