Underrated!
The word's overused, but whatever. Post moments during SR/TJ's career that you feel are underappreciated, overlooked, or that merely appeals to your personal taste.
Some of mine: Handsome Sugite (Discovery): This is an amazing performance. I go crazy during Uki's solo, when he starts wailing and Ringo and Hata beat their instruments relentlessly. The performance was somehow cruel axnd intense yet fun? Society of Citizens Volume 1: A whole little 'era' in itself with its own unique (Petrolzy) sound. Blackout: I accept Blackout as an alternate take on Sounan and not a ripoff. It's the live versions, you see -- the problem with the Adult version is that it stole Sounan's ambivalence. But when she performs it in JCHI and EXPO you feel that it IS a black out and that terrible things will get you. Spa and Treatment: SR's vocals took on a a strangled yet bossy quality during this era, which I absolutely adored. (funny, I see a pattern. I think if TJ released a horror-themed album it would have been my favourite. Or maybe some of the appeal in SR’s music in general that it’s scary yet well-meaning. In a Grimms Fairy Tales sort of way.) |
Lately I've been listening to Chiaki Kuriyama's SR singles and I must say they have grown on me a lot, even with her uncharismatic autotuned voice. Oishii Kisetsu and Tsukuyo no Shouzou are both great and have mostly gone ignored on the forums!

Off the top of my head - Virgin Line Gunjou biyori. The arrangement gave it a lovely kayou-kyoku quality that really showed off the versatility of the song's composition.

Adult as a whole...
Specifically Yuki-guni (which straight up made me cry the first time I listened to it), and Blackout (which I firmly believe is as related to Sounan as, say, Jusui Negai ie not that similar at all) Also, Virgina Line Gunjou is really great. As was Discovery Handsome Sugite (when Shiian wails on the tambourine...) |

Koufukuron (single version): miles ahead of the album version, and one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Fukushuu: really sinister, and moves me every time Ringo sings "it's beautiful". Tsukigime-hime: they borrowed from the Doors and made it modern and hip. I love it when Ringo occasionally sings in a deep, manly voice. Kind of kinky. Watashi to Hōden and Shinya-waku are as good as the studio albums. And basically everything people here don't like. I hate all of you. ;-) |
All porn versions of everything, particularly Bon Voyage

Then why the fuck are you even here?
I would just love it if you left. I'm even considering leaving the forum because of you. Then again, your crude nature pretty much means you are just going to post more to spite me. |
Me or Inseu?

I'm here because of Tokyo_Jihad, who is the heart and soul of EMF. You seem like the uptight, "activist", still-in-college type. My last comment wasn't serious. Chill out. |
