Because one of the best things about Ringo is the musical development she shows with each album, and it's sad how this new release fits a little too well with something from 2 years ago.

I think it's the result of Ringo pursuing a particular sound rather than not developing - or that could just be another way of saying she isn't developing, I don't know. This single definitely hearkens back to Kono Yono Kagiri, and reaching even further back, I don't think Aisaka no Choushoku would sound out of place on this single. I guess it just depends which version of Ringo you like more.
I get what you're saying though. I wish Ringo wouldn't reserve her rock music just for TJ (because those guys don't know how to rock out).
