Wait, are you being sarcastic about Eragon? It was originally going to be a trilogy but he had to break the final book into two due to insufficient planning. R.R. Martin did the same thing with Song of Ice and Fire, which was supposed to be a trilogy.
I think we may be misunderstanding each other...I'm talking about a complete series being thoroughly planned out from the first book to the last, with the entire plot outlined (not necessarily in detail, but still outlined). Chronicles of Narnia is another example of what I'm thinking of.
