Interesting. I always felt her western fanbase tended to be more critical overall of recent output, but if Japanese media is calling her out at this point that says a lot. Still, who's to say she's beholden to what the media thinks? She seems comfortable.

My theory has always been that her current glamorous and gender conforming image happened because she over-corrected after being perceived as a weird cosplay pervert earlier in her career. Maybe the media can nudge her in the other direction again
