um what are you on?

coraline is for children. it caused a controversy when it was released because children had to be escorted out of theaters because they couldn't get through the opening credits without bawling. with shit like Veggie Tales and Dolphin Tale in theatre, how can you even remotely claim it was babying them. even neil gaiman thought the movie was a perfect representation of the book.

the movie is deeply disturbing. they didn't ruin the look or feel at all. the movie was pretty much universally loved by critics and fans alike and I'm sure if you had your way, based on your comments, you would have it look like Nightmore Before Christmas. snoooooooreeee. been there, done that, it was boring and it was called Corpse Bride.

Coraline is colorful and yet dark at the same time, that is quite an achievement in my book.

Frecklegirl, definitely give it a go.
