editing changes
so now when you edit it asks you for a reason to edit and the submit button now reads "vote now"
does this sound odd to anyone else? |

There haven't been any changes here yet. I'd treat your web browser as the prime suspect.
Also, you never actually need a reason to Edit, though whether you include a Reason or not, an Edit mark still shows up if you Edited more than a few minutes after you originally made the post. If you happen to pick a really awkward time or place to Edit with no Reason, onlookers who didn't catch the original post, might assume the worst. Whether you choose to use Reason or not, it's your opportunity (or 'obligation' for the socially-conscientious) to explain yourself, and in many situations people won't care for an explanation, so use it for the rare moments when it really matters, and if you're lying, then one of the few people who saw your pre-Edit post, might call you on it. Similarly, it's preferable that you give Reasons with any Reputation Comments you give out, especially if you're Disapproving a post. In fact if you Approve/Disapprove controversial posts without a Comment, then you don't actually change a person's Reputation either way. The Comments make your judgments more legitimate even if a moderator may not agree with your Reason.
