Tokyo Jihen is cheap?
Has anyone else noticed how cheap all of TJ's videos look. usually one set, simple context, etc. a lot of artists are really big about their videos and spend a lot of money, but their vids are very simple and one set, etc.
how odd is that...you know they're making a lot of money...is it all going into production?

eh. I bet Osca was more pricey than you think (choreography.) That was more "stylized." Himitsu or Shuraba don't seem very cheap. KJ is pretty effective.
The only ones that really look cheap are the ones on Adult Video (especially Tasogare.) Its pretty clear they just wanted to pad up the disc. (Same with Kurumaya in phase 1.) Course, whatdo these have in common? They're shot on video whereas the "real" vids are shot on film (which is way more costly.)

dynamite wasnt but sounan looked it
i dont know if it's a simplicity thing... i dont know i dont make videos and may i add, the choreography was horrible in osca and those girls looked crippled in movement. if i know one thing, it's if ppl know how to dance.

they were "supposed" to be crazy. they weren't suppose to dancelike in dynamite. I dunno, more "expressive" or "representational" -- i dunno how to explain it.
I think Sounan was really good. There were no cgi robots or anything. I dunno, at that rate you could say very few of her vids are high budget (save Meisai, La Salle)

I rather they devote most of the budget to music/recording than flashy videos. Because flashy videos are for artistes that well, can't really sing.

well if it's any consolation, what I mean is that I agree with you that most TJ vids are low budget.
(fyi I absolutely hate the Himitsu vid. It reminds me of CSI, somehow.)

So how much does Tokyo jihen makes? Infact how much does SR made when she was solo? Somehow I don't see her music ever being mentioned anwhere as a commerical success, so would that explain their lack of high budget videos?
