Um, hi. I'm kinda new here, but I'm quite used to this board as I've been visiting EMF almost everyday since last month. I have a little question...

Otaku.com has a Ringo EXPO 08 DVD in stock right now, but when I asked them - through eBay - whether their copy is a first press or not, they didn't know what to answer. The point is: can you judge from an external photo if this is a first press box? I'm not sure. Sorry for bothering.

^ I'm sure it's a first press since it's in the box. I believe the non-first press is in a standard jewel case.

thats definitely first press, the bit in bold in gold on the bottom right confirms it too!

I hate digging a thread up after the conversation has sorta ended, but I just wanted to say something that really irritated me about this DVD.

I wanted to watch Shiina perform but instead, the camera would switch away from her every few seconds. The most puzzling fact was that it often went to show shots of the audience, like the crew was trying to show off how many people came to see Ringo. The focus changed so much that I found myself taken out of the experience. Granted, some of the shots were pretty interesting looking, but there still wasn't enough Ringo on the screen for me.

One of the best concerts that I've ever attended!!!!! When she opened up with Hatsukoi Shoujo I damn near cried, because my friends and I were saying that she probably wouldn't perform it because not a lot of fans here in japan knew it. AND THEN SHE DID IT!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I died when I heard Hatsukoi Shoujo. I thought it was going to be like all my other favourite songs from artists, the one they never play.
AmeGamble, it must be really special to have been able to see the show live, as well as to own it and be able to experience it over again. How did the DVD compare to your own experience?

I've said it before, but I love talking about this show so... The DVD doesn't compare at all. Aside from the sound quality and mixing being subpar on the DVD, it's missing some other little touches. For example, Hatsukoi Shoujo is gimped on the DVD just because there's no surround sound. During the show Ringo's voice played from various parts of the arena.

Plus there's nothing like being in the fourth row at a solo Ringo show even if she's not the same as the old days.

The DVD is a great reminder, but fails in comparison to the real thing! And this is coming from some one who was practically sitting 5 rows away from the back-back of the nose bleed section. It was just amazing. And a little part of me was angry that there were people sitting next to me sleeping or not screaming and throwing their hands up. But hey, I guess everyone enjoys concerts differently

But yeah, definitely when Hatsukoi Shoujo started, I screamed like a girl.
