I got Bioshock 2 now, and it's better than I expected. The new story is very mysterious and unclear, the (new) gameplay is fitting into that perfectly, and what I never would have expected is, that even the setting and the art design is better.
In 3D the game as it is, just like the first, looks good, but the underwater sequences are just stunning. The new hacking system that doesn not just offer win or lose, but also a reward for even better hacking is pure fun, and at most times very very useful.
I couldn't have thought about a better sequel at this point.

I wish I played BioShock so I could play BioShock 2. the viral stories about Big Sister from last year were cool.

Well, you could still play Bioshock 1. It's still an extremely good game, and without knowing for sure, I think the story is even better than the one of the second game. If you buy Bioshock 2 from steam, you even get the first for free.

If you're a Steam user you could have gotten a free copy of Bioshock with pre-purchase of Bioshock 2.

It's been a good start to the gaming year. Bayonetta and Mass Effect 2 are fantastic.

Got another great game today:

Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes

I expected a cheesy ripoff, but what I got is a game that make Puzzle Quest look like the most boring, most uninnovative game of the decade.
This game is pure genius, I currently can't get enough of it. Puzzle Quest hooked me back then, but this is way way better.

Indeed. Finished Mass Effect 2 a couple of days ago and it improves on every aspect of the first game (aside from story, but that's mainly because it's the middle of a trilogy and regardless, it is fantastically presented anyway) and fixes virtually all of my issues. Made me realise how bland the first games characters are. If those two games were released a couple of weeks earlier, both would be in my top 3 games of 2009 so to have them already in 2010 is great and the relentless release of great games isn't slowing down any time soon.

I also bought Forza 3 and the official 360 wheel today. Been meaning to get back into racers for a while and I knew Forza 3 was the game to do it,but I was waiting to get it with the wheel. Got them together for £70 which was a great deal and the wheel is really nice. I love the force feedback.

Finished Bioshock 2 today in 7 hours a bit short but it was excellent.

I got a special edition that came with a vinyl record no way to play that but you also got the CD among some other things.
