Lucky for me, I don't really dislike any Ringo stuff that much... the only times I've not liked something by her has been when another TJ member has written it. Service and SSAW for example. It probably makes my opinions when it comes to Ringo pretty much invalid, but I like to annoy people with it anyway.
She's still better than anyone else in Japan currently for me. At least in the pop industry. She'd only have some stiff competition if Jun Togawa was constantly around- which I'm guessing she will be if these new songs she's playing are gonna get studio recorded. Ringo has a tonne of songs, and for me, I like the majority of them. Like 90%. I have no problem with my perhaps (?) blind love for her, it's what makes me happy. Unless she bores me to tears with an album like Night of Hunters or devastates my eardrums like St. Anger/Lulu, she's cool with me. But whatever, I'm repeating myself for the billionth time.

Did Ringo just finish watching Persona 4: The Animation with her son? This sounds like she's channeling part of her old self and part of Shoji Meguro. It's what happens when take bits of Byoushou Public and the GX version of Aozora and combine them with Meguro's take on Jpop.
Obviously I like it. And I bet Ringo is a Naoto Shirogane fangirl.

I like it too. The fact that it's a pretty straightforward pop/rock productoin doesn't bother me.
With Ringo, most everything she does is based on a structure like this and then depending on the arrangement/production it either sounds like KZK, SS, Tokyo Jihen phase one or two, an orchestra song, 40s sounding Broadway song, etc. Most of her stuff is based on a really strong melodic structure, and that's her great strength as an artist. |

That makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. The Naota part too- This made me think back to the Lyric interpretation thread, Naota is hinted to be quite endowed in her bust in-game.

Loved most of it, but did it really have to end with fireworks?

I kinda reckon its about autism, to fit in with the theme of the show. Maybe.
