The single is currently at number 5 in Oricon's NINKI, and NINKI predictions are usually right. It's not surprising tho, seeing how Arashi, Glay, GreeeeN and ZARD are far more popular than Ringo.
What is it with japanese people anyway. The ZARD hype doesn't seem to die, unlike the singer *rimshots* Apologies to any ZARD fan.

Having read a good few pages of comments I had nothing but the vaguest of ideas of what SG would sound like. Even then I was quite far off. I never underestimate Shiina in surprising me though, be it good or bad. As Freckles said it's both different and familiar. I also agree that it can get a bit busy, possibly more apparently so because her vocals are surprisingly subdued. After 3 listens, I... like it I guess? It's a good B-Side, definitely. I'd like to say I know what to expect from the album but I don't have a clue any more.

what is everyone listening to, that youtube rip? horrible quality. I checked itunes first and foremost and comparatively the youtube is almost unlistenable.

oh, go figure. I just woke up and I look at a dead News forum and then see this thread has another 7 pages and it goes from no one having heard it to suddenly even one having it and one lousy youtube rip. laaaame.

Actually, everyone is listening to the CD Rip of the full song.
The YouTube "rip" was made by me, and I assure you the original file that I uploaded has perfect sound quality. However, when uploaded to YouTube, they reduce the bitrate considerably. It's usefull for anyone that just wants to know what it's all about, but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) doesn't replace the original full-quality song at all. I mentioned this previously, anyway.

I kinda agree.

at the very least: it sounds like "that" Shiina Ringo, so I don't think anyone can complain about that.

I'm not sure how I feel about this song, it will have to be a grower. I'm interested if this is a mishmash of styles from the album or what. the way she is using her voice is super bizarre and unprecedented, kind of cool. makes me look forward to the album. my copy is in the mail, hopefully it won't take too long.

I like SG. That sequencer's a little relentless, but I like it.

Crazy subtle quietly weird details come out on headphones with both songs.

On the back cover, is the apple hiding behind a bunny? Who's the bunny?
