For once, Vita looks better than DS for me too.

What I want for a DS: Not as a huge size, better resolution on screens, MUCH better battery life

Vita has some cons, but I'm liking it more and more.

And the other thing that really bothers me is that portable games nowadays aren't "portable"! For most games, save points are too far away. If I'm on the bus for 20 minutes and I just want to pick up something to play, I can't do that! It's really annoying. I think consoles should be for console experiences and there should be more portable games for portable systems.

I agree, the Vita looks pretty boss, but at a $250/$300 price tag, it's not gonna be for everyone. And for someone like me, who hates FPSs and traditional JRPGs, Nintendo typically has more to offer.

First talking pinball, 1979's Gorgar. I bought a "broken" one for $100. Only needed fresh AA cells (for RAM).

Gorgar

I just got a PSP two weeks ago and comparing it to my 3DS I'm baffled that the PSP has such a better screen. Nintendo has learned NOTHING and I'm pretty disappointed by this, thinking about selling my 3DS.

That said, the PSP is already the best hand held that will ever be made. It plays pretty much all PSX games. Plus it has a lot of pretty remakes of PSX games.
Win.

I'll probably buy a Vita in 5-6 years when it's a lot cheaper.

Anybody excited for BF3?

My logical mind switched off when I saw a bolt-action rifle with iron sights in the beta.

We have two video game threads and I never know which one to bump...

Guys, Batman: Arkham City is awesome. I was underwhelmed at first, but that could have been due to the high fever I had at the time. It's far, far better than the first game. The only downside is that Catwoman isn't in the game enough. I thought I had read in the previews that you could switch between the two at any time, but that's not the case. Her sections can e completed in under 10 minutes.

Oh, so I went through the Team ICO collection the other day. Just as good as the first time, especially considering it's been years since I played them originally, so I had forgotten pretty much everything, like the trick to each colossus. The HD upscale looks okay. It seem superfluous to me, but I my opinion, both games aren't very much about the graphics. I do recall SotC suffering from a good bit of frame dropping back on the PS2, so it's good to have it on a console that can keep up.

Also started up and immediately dropped Demon Souls. I hate all those trying-too-hard-to-be-DnD style RPGs. Sometimes less is more.

I'm replaying Arkham Asylum while waiting for the release of Arkham City.
The PC Version, that is. After L.A. Noire sucking more than I ever hoped to believe and The Witcher 2 being much too short, Arkham City is my new hope for the game of the year. The ratings and user comments seem to confirm this as well.
Guess the only one in it's way is Skyrim then, although I believe I'll have more fun with Batman.

Yeah, SOTC runs smooth as butter at 1080p. Not a single stutter. But, I think Ico stole the show here. SOTC is still the better game by far, but the level of the improvements to Ico blew me away. Which I think makes sense in hindsight, because Ico was a much more technically primitive game than SOTC even if it had a more consistent frame rate.
