its good that she doesnt really care about selling .. if she did, she would probably just throw all the a-sides in the CD.. thats why I think this is a good release, for someone like me who has nothing from her (singles, albums..) it's a nice first item to get

^ A better first item would have been a limited 10th Anniversary box set with all the singles.

Hmm, if Senkou Shojou was not at least a modest attempt at commercialism, and not modestly successful, I might agree. It seemed like a very deliberate attempt to market the band as jpop, whatever that is. In the back of my mind, I wonder if Variety was her attempt, however successful or not, to appease her bosses. It is fairly mainstream stuff, for her. Although it was strange, when I first got to Japan I heard Killer Tune all over the place, and it really stood apart from the other popular jpop songs. Senkou seemed to "blend in" much better.
Anyway, I was speculating about the potential setlists for her solo shows, wondering if they will actually be heavily weighted towards the material on these "new" releases. I would hope so. If she is not going to be doing any new material, it would be nice if she focuses on these b-sides that have not been dragged through the ringer already. |

Why? This collection is expensive enough as it is. It would only cost 6800 yen at max.

Well I'm pulling for some new songs. Not just "oh new songs" but it would strongly hint at a new solo release
And in Shiina's catalog's defense, not many of her songs have been "run through the ringer" besides Koufukuron (album style), Marunouchi and Onaji Yoru. And its not suprising that those are all MM songs because shes toured almost as much with Jihen as she ever did when she was solo. Thats a sad sad thought. =(
