If you can't enjoy it while you're sober, you simply don't like it. That's why it's usually not reccomendable to hook up when you're drunk . |

If by an altered state you mean high or coked up I can't really comment. I can however speak from the experience of being drunk to which everything just feels like an annoying noise and I'm on the floor somewhere.
Maybe being high or indeed coked up would improve some music? |

heisei fuuzoku is AMAZING when your mind is off in space. most of the rock stuff is too heavy for me. when I'm sober its the other way around, I prefer the rock.

I haven't taken any drugs in years, but did do my fair share before I sort of lost interest around 40.
Never thought of cocaine as being conducive to passively listening to anything. Pot made everything sound better; it even made the hum of my refrigerator sound cool. LSD and shrooms were great with, well, psychedelic music and trancey stuff, but not with anything jarring or spiky. Opium, which I never bought but did have offered to me on occasion, went quite well with jazz. Alcohol never seemed to augment my perception at all. Neither did any other CNS depressant. |

Okay, now I realize I'm not telling something you have not already known, simply because you've actually lived that period. But I can't avoid feeling interested in that. |

I gotta say, my favorite thing in life is any Pre-Variety TJ/SS album and a joint. Just my two cents.

I just came back from Marupetit where they were playing a Muzak version of "Ariamaru Tomi." I dawdled in the ready-made meal section just to hear the whole thing....
Does that count as an altered state? Didn't know where else to report this. |

KSK in any state or mood. Happy or sad, high or sober, always a pleasure.
