I like Zooey when she's cute with meaning (ie 500 Days of Summer)

I feel like New Girl doesn't have anything to it other than "Zooey is wacky!". And it is even oddly objectifying.

Kinda agree with TurtleFu here, but I think the show will pick up once they start writing the rest of the cast well and stop trying so hard to sell the show as a Zooey vehicle (which they've already done; the show's getting great numbers). Right now New Girl is "come for Zooey, stay for Zooey" and it needs to be "come for Zooey, stay for the entire cast."

Ugly Betty syndrome. Ugly Betty was such an amazing ensemble show with really great characters who were written well with interesting story lines, but all that came long after half a season of fish out of the water "she is fat and doesn't belong" American Ferrera pushing.

As for New Girl I think at the end of the day it really is a vehicle for Zooey and its the supporting cast that will make or break it. I'm not sure how I feel about her roommates at the moment, they seem a bit out of water next to Zooey half the time, just floundering for air.

anyone catch American Horror Story? You can stream the premiere on FX and Hulu. It was quite interesting. It could definitely go down the wrong path but it has enough WTF to keep me watching for a bit at least.

When they gonna make a show as good as The Thick Of It again?

Everything pretty much sucks.

Okay, in episode 11 of The Wire, something finally happened: one of the least interesting characters got shot, and now everyone's upset. I'm not upset at all because she wasn't that interesting, and the interesting characters are becoming more interesting, so it's a win-win.

Yep.

Spoilers just in case:

He definitely crossed the moral event horizon with the lily-of-the-valley. What a human being.

"Face Off" was certainly an apt title for the last episode.

I appreciate the spoiler tags, Curious. Currently working my way through the forth season.
