I refuse to see the King's Speech. SNOOOOORING.
I remember the year Crash won Best Picture was the year I completely stopped caring about the Oscars. A few years back, when Julia Roberts won for Erin Brokovitch over Ellen Burstyn in Requiem for a Dream is the year I knew it was BS. Cannes banning von Trier this past year made me kind of realize that is also a load of bs as well. So they didn't like his dumb joke (made in poor taste), so now they are going to ban him. Sounds kind of like limiting his freedom of speech in a way. |

I actually quite liked The King's Speech and thought it was pretty good (surprisingly quite funny too!) but I don't think it should have won for Best Picture and CERTAINLY not for Best Director. That distinction should have gone to The Social Network and David Fincher respectively. Ugh.
And yes, Julia Roberts winning over Ellen Burstyn was a gross oversight that year. ==" |

Other than that though, I got no beef with Nolan. According to Wikipedia, Snyder was apparently at least their eighth choice for director. Not that it means anything, since I know every project approaches multiple directors before finding one and who knows what the average is, but I still found it rather funny. |

Can't take the guy who directed and WROTE "The Prestige" seriously. One of the worst movies I've seen in my life. Hollywood at its utmost stupidity.

Forgivable if they have already made a movie like Rushmore.
