I recently watched Ten-ten (Adrift in Tokyo), with my boyfriend, who saw it first and loved it and made me watch it too. It was pretty good, and funny. Anyone else seen it?

Has anyone here seen "Sunshine" or "Atonement"? Those are two movies I watched recently and have ended up really liking.

I wanted to see Sunshine although until now I haven't heard anybody say it was a good movie.
Who's seen Irreversible? I watched it yesterday and liked it, even though I expected it to be a bit better. There's much more to the movie than Monica Bellucci raped in an underpass (still, that was a pretty horrifying scene), and in particular I liked the camera (which was VERY disorienting mainly towards the first scenes, and I think every scene was done in a single take, no cuts). I'd like to watch Last Tango in Paris tonight, hopefully I'll do |

I haven't watched Irreversible in a while but I remember liking it. I don't think it's the type of movie you can enjoy.
Sunshine is absolutely great until half way through. Atonement was OK, but I've grown old of Knightley period dramas. James McAvoy was good though. I recently watched Eden Lake which was one of the most brutal movies I've ever seen. Me and my friends were just sitting in silence at the end of it. Sure the characters make some dumb moves to serve the plot, as happens in almost every horror movie, but the entire situation isn't far from plausible; particularly today when teenage knife crime is rampant in the UK. The kids in this movie are the type of kids you'll find in any UK town. We call them chavs. Not all of them want to go out and brutally murder, of course, but they're all usually terribly impolite, rude and out to start a fight. In fact, they all act exactly the same as the kids in this movie minus the horrific violence (most of the time). I'm not sure if 'recommend' is the word, but if that sounds like something you'd like to see, check it out.

Last Tango in Paris was great, especially if your watching just for Brando. The man is on his game throughout.

Yeah. Sunshine is a great movie, but the inclusion of the monster or whatever seems kind of unnecessary. I'd recommend it based on some of the awesome scenes though.
How about The Diving Bell And The Butterfly? My brother recommended it to me, but I haven't gotten around to watching it. |
