Man, how do you guys treat your friends that speak English as a second language?

Regarding Ringo's English and even attempting to break out into the American market; it's probably not going to happen. I would venture a guess that she knows how Utada's attempt to break out into the American market went. If Utada (having perfect English) can't make it here, then Ringo doesn't have a chance. It's wishful thinking to hope for a Ringo concert in America though.
I'm not sure if Ringo can even speak English beyond singing in English. I've never heard her use English otherwise. (Then again, it's not like she's had a reason to) Well, then I remember she traveled to NYC for that event. I guess she knows enough to get by. |

Another problem is that there really isn't a huge market for her here and I'm sure she realizes that.

She should have struck back in the day when the chances of making the crossover were potentially viable. She might have failed but at least she could claim to have tried. Couldn't have been any worse than Hikki.
She's got fans outside of Japan so she should at least drop by to say hello at least once. London, New York, Paris etc. A few shows in small venues that are a sure bet to sell out. Call it a "World Tour" like the other Japanese acts do. |

Tour with SAPS. Problem solved.
Or at least do an Asia tour. Singapore is a reasonable half way point for most people- and they did do live screenings of Bon Voyage at cinemas there, showing there is a legit interest. That or be part of a festival. If Oreskaband can be on the Vans tour, anyone can :-p A final option would be selling her soul and touring with Perfume, though I doubt EMI would let this happen IRL. Granted, after all is said and done, she WAS given the opportunity and declined before right?

She would need an actual anime tie-in for that.
