A new hope

It's Star wars in 15 second parts cut together by someone. By internet for the internet.

Saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo the other night. Really enjoyed it but thought it was a bit too long (shouldn't they have wrapped it up once the case was over instead of overstaying it's welcome by tying up every other loose end in the film?!) and was admittedly hard to follow in the beginning with names and faces thrown at you every ten seconds. Felt like TGWTDT like it had a bit of every single Fincher film made so far. (Y)

Also been watching the Police Story films for the first time. Finished Supercop last night. Who needs a rich narrative with developed characters when you have Jackie Chan dangling off a helicopter!

Some people REALLY hate it, and some REALLY like it.

I haven't seen this much difference in opinion since Sucker Punch.

(I still haven't seen it, so I don't have an opinion yet)

Were there people that "REALLY" liked Sucker Punch? What I gathered from opinions on that movie were that the split was "this movie is awful and insipid and misogynistic" and "the movie was trying to be really smart and subvert misogyny but was mostly mishandled and still not great of a watch."

Rented 3 over the weekend: Margin Call, Straw Dogs remake, and The Tree of Life. They all had good things in them. Margin Call surprisingly was the best overall movie; the other two didn't add up to much even though there were amazing moments in both.

@Jihad
There were some people who thought it was inspired and artistic and amazing. Some guy even wrote a long break down of the film's symbols and themes as if it were War and Peace.

I like Sucker Punch for its accurate weapon handling but not for its CQB methods.

Storyline? Not very much...

Sucker Punch was so god awful. The opening sequence was pretty awesome but the ending and the acting was just so god awful... the alien/future sequence that was presented as one long take was always quite uncomfortable to watch and rather uninspired in design. I really wanted to like that film but....

The battle scenes were really well done though... The bizarre storyline tried to link them together.
