![]() so I got my copy of Kyoumei today, I have listened to it straight through one full time. I am really digging it after one listen, we shall see if it sticks, heh. There is a real breadth and variety presented on this album, although ballads or rather more emotional tracks out weight the two rockers, shoumei and shiroi yami. even her ballads, like boku no taiyou and omoi no mama still have a lot of rock in them and this album feels very full, it makes me wonder what a full length release would sound like. This release definitely seals my decision to support and follow Shigi as a fan, this is probably the most hopeful debut I have witnessed in quite some time, if not ever. It is kind of cool to be witnessing the debut as it happens.

![]() I've heard it too and yeah, it's very promising. Especially at a time when I'm not really following contemporary music because it's like 90% of it seems really bland, I'm also not a HUGE Japanese music listener and first she was a nice surprise, but now I know this girl's really talented.
So basically, among the 5 tracks there's no weak one, of course I don't remember them that good since I've only listened to it once, but I liked all I've heard. They didn't all sound the same or much too similar too, which is great. The acoustic version of Shoumei tacked at the end is nice too, though I still like the original better. She's definitely one to watch out for. |

![]() kagayaita full version
loooooove it. didn't like the clip on the gintama EN, it isn't a very good indication of how this song blossoms and unfolds into such a large and brilliant sound. but the full version felt really balanced and quite different but still similar to her earlier work interesting to note that this is the official second single for Shigi, I think Kyomei was her little mini album with older work on it to kind of release some of her singer songwriter stuff that was in her vault and from here on out it is new material influenced by her band that was put together this past year.

![]() Thanks for the vid, kuro_neko. I like this song more than her whole mini album, to be honest!

![]() Nishikawa played the majority of the guitar on Muzai, Shouso, and the B-sides during that time. He was also in the original lineup of the Gekojujyo band before he left for his own band. I was expecting him to play at the Ringo Expo, but got Nagoshi instead.

![]() awesome, that means I saw him live! The only Shigi live I ever saw before I left Japan for a bit was the first time shigi had used her band. He is in her permanent band, so that is pretty cool, I am not sure if he does her recordings too or if that is Kenji Ueda (from the pillows), kenji produces and arranges most of her songs with Shigi and the way I understand it he really took Shigi under his wing and is responsible for her getting a great career boost. Shigi has some major backers in terms of the rock industry, its cool. This single turned out very interesting. I hope she explores more variations on her style in the future because this one turned out awesome.
