Begins is considered superior by the comic nerds. Hell, Watchmen is as well.
Fine, dude. TDK is about Batman kicking ass and the Joker being... well, the Joker. There's also that sub plot of Bruce wanting to retire Batman to be with his girl, and the White Knight's fall into madness.

what more do the TDK fanboys want? it already is the number two grossing movie of all time? Its popcorn art, great for what it is and where it came from, considering the source material, but I don't really think it is the end all be all of all movies like all the fanboys do. in fact, as a movie it fails, its kind of boring to watch.
I'm stoked about Lars von Triers Antichrist, can't wait for that. I'm a huge LvT, and I'm glad he is going back to some of his horror roots. The story is about a couple who after the death of their only son retreat to a cabin in the woods where they soon discover that the world might not indeed be created by God but instead by Satan. The movie is shrouded in mystery and its pretty much William Dafoe and some actress in a cabin with a bunch of trained animals and lots of graphic violence and almost pornographic sex scenes. From the test viewing they did people were saying how disturbed they were by being turned on by something so ugly, how they were able to digest something they at first thought beautiful but turned out to be really horribly graphic. apparently within the opening credits alone it already warrants AT LEAST an NC-17. I can't wait for this movie to get banned, XD |

It's Charlotte Gainsbourg, the daughter of Serge Gainsbourg, a French music legend!
If you haven't seen "The Cement Garden" yet I urge you to, she was 15 there I think and the movie is about three siblings whose parents die one shortly after another, they decide to bury them on the premises of the house and start a new family. Charlotte's character and the older son engage in an incestuous relationship and the small boy discovers the transvestite in himself. It was beautifully shot and I really liked the acting. And don't let the fact that Madonna sampled it put you off http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106535/ |

If I could edit that movie into just the parts with Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow (not the parts where he's wearing the bag), then Batman Begins would be PERFECT! Screw all the lame ninja bullshit. =_=

Cillian Murphy pretty much rocks in every movie, yeah =D
I've been watching some Shinya Tsukamoto films that I bought monday: "Tetsuo I" and "II" and "A Snake of June". I've seen them before, but they are that awesome to see again. I especially recommend the two Tetsuo films to anyone who likes "this-is-fucking-crazy" kind of movies. The first one is b/w with awesome cinematography and has the most incomprehensible plot of the two, so start there. Also bought Visitor Q by Takashi Miike. Loved it to death first time I watched and even more this time. The end is such a great moment, a return to order and comfort paired with uneasy feelings. And the song <3 |

1. Near Dark is worse than almost every movie I ever watched. Interview with the Vampie wouldn't even let Near Dark lick his feet, because it would probably just get dirty.
2. I you didn't get it, Dark Knight is about corruption and selfishness.
