Takes a lot for me to go "wow, listen to the drums'
Hata does not do this.

Dynamite Out and Kyouiku more. After this it became the Kameda showboat fest, and if the bass is going crazy, the drums usually have to take a backseat (and vice versa.)

But I looooooooooove Kameda's bass. His little solo thingy during Ultra C (was it during OSCA? Nadouteki Sanpunkan?) was soooo sexy.
But his compositions are too easy listening-ish and pop-y. But Hata is a very, very energetic drummer. He seems to be the only member that can maintain the energy they had during Dynamite! |

At this point, I wouldn't really care if anyone went. They just don't mesh well as a band. They're better than average but that's not much of a compliment. For Ringo, being just "better than average" is practically saying it's mediocre. They're all talented musicians but the guys very clearly are not songwriters. Especially Kameda. He's easily the weakest songwriter of the group. Fantastic bass player but a very poor songwriter.

But to be fair, not every drummer has to be a Neil Peart to be a good drummer. I guess that's the curse of being a "good" drummer (or bassist, to make note of Jihad's point)...you're only noticed by making yourself noticeable. |

Hell, even churn out an album of Oishii Kitesu, add some (intentional) extreme brickwalling and heaps of samples, roll her 'r's and get SS 2.0. (If that's what it takes for her to sound 'creative' again.) With a big fat :-p

Celebrity suicide of the year. But really, I want Hirama back... Ukigumo can stay too. I just don't want Hirama to associate with that WEEABOO. Last edited by W3iHong : 2011.08.02 at 06:05 PM. |
