My first was SGT Pepper's in 2000 because I liked the cardboard outer sleeve, luckily it was a good album too. besides the Beatles, Oasis (to a point) and now Shiina, I really have not wanted to pay for any music, I just get it elsewhere. I did also buy an Eagles boxset which I still love to this day.

I have a lot of albums now but I'm trying to think of what the first one I ever bought was. I'm pretty sure it's The Offspring's "Ixnay on the Hombre" way back when they were still really big. When I was younger, I thought it was so edgy and cool because they cussed so much in it Dexter Holland didn't seem to care if he offended anybody with his lyrics. That also really opened my doors to different types of music and not setting limitations just because something may have offensive lyrics. I still love that album and the band to this day. But then again, my musical taste only seems to expand, I rarely "get over" an artist (with the possible exception of Linkin Park, I really lost interest in them after their first album).

I can't remember, but it was either Green Day's Dookie or maybe Dark Side of the Moon...or Offspring (with the skeleton x-ray thing on the front)..

Aged 4 I begged my mum to buy me Godiego's Monkey EP, the theme from the TV show. From then on I was always hankering after Japanese music inc Pink Lady, GS and BOOWY etc etc.

First vinyl album - Todd Rundgren's Hermit of Mink Hollow

First cassettes (7th birthday) - Bruce Springsteen Born in the USA, Steely Dan Katy Lied, and a Rolf Harris cassette I can't remember the name of....

First CD - A Mozart Opera compilation

First iTunes - Mikio Hirama - BLACK BONE MUSICIEN LABEL - CD drive in computer broke and I can't function on a moody day without that album on my iPod.

Ok, in order of media...

*1st Cassette.- There were three actually, since I bought them all at the same time: Left of the Middle by Natalie Imbruglia (I still like this one ), Spice Girls´s first album (this one I gave to a friend, since I stopped listening to them) and... The Titanic Soundtrack (yeah, I just bought it for My Heart Will Go On, but since listening to that one I started to like more classical music...I was a 14-year-old boy, so please understand me xD).

*1st CD.- Come Away with Me by Norah Jones ( I´m still in love for this one. Jones used to be my N°1 artist... but guess who knock her out)

*1st CD-Single.- Resonant Blue by Morning Musume. (I can´t believe I just wrote that! But I have to be honest, I really like that song...Ok, I´m a MoMusu fan! There you have it! I feel so exposed... xD)

That´s it... Yeah, you can tell by now how weird are my tastes... One day I watch Mulholland Dr., sometimes I just can´t stop watching Godzilla... That´s how (weird and random) I am... and my LastFM proves it!...

That doesn't seem all that weird to me! I own most of David Lynch's movies, but sometimes watch Harvey Birdman DVDs for hours. I think most of us here appreciate a wide range of material.

I'm pointing out how silly it is to say something like "Oh sometimes I'll watch X and sometimes I'll watch Y" and point out the disparity between the two.

Lynch is alright. Twin Peaks was righteous.
