[TJ] 2007.09.26 - Variety (CD) [Album] - Page 69

There's nothing really that stands out about most of these songs to me. I wouldn't even say there bad compared to their other work. They're just overall bad compositions. Yes, every now and then something nice sounding comes up in a song (the clean, ringing guitar in Ramp), but it doesn't save the song. The melodies are boring and there isn't a single catchy hook on the album.

Do we really need this argument again?
Variety is one of those albums that doesn't set out to achieve anything. (well, except that TJ 2.0 sucks, but I knew that from Adult already.) It's a polite, over-produced, boring album that... well, maybe had good intentions to be a true band effort but failed to deliver because of weak songwriting and arrangement. There's hardly a memorable melody in the album other than Kingyo. SR tries to save the album with terrific vocals but... it's just a gone case.

I might have a Phase 1 bias, but the truth is, Phase 2 failed to deliver.

It's fun to laugh at Variety though ? and besides I was not around for the initial hate salvo against it! so I'm making up for lost time

What is it that Ukigumo/Izawa says in Tsukigime-hime after SR sings her lines. The thing that sounds like

"Ella jojobee love puncess"

I guessed it's "month princess" considering the title, but an accurate translation would be cool. It's not a big deal, it's just bothering me.
