I've only heard Dreams (New Jazz Ensemble) by him before (because of the Togawa factor) but this is just intense. Think it's time to start digging further. Lol, Melbourne, that's a 50 minute flight from where I live :-p
What is best place to go from "Dreams"

^I just learned about him recently while reading about Yamatsuka Eye. He does have a decent AllMusic entry.

I'm on an '80s movie pump-up jam kick right now.
HEY DG, recommend me some Togawa to start with. Imma go raid jpopsuki for some but so far the songs I've perused on Youtube have... eclectic'ed me out a bit. |

And if I can jump on that...what Togawa albums are mostly orchestral and not synthed?

Side projects: Kiyohiko Semba and the Haniwa Allstars Live in Concert (see the awesome DVD if you can), kinda sorta Otomo Yoshihide's New Jazz Ensemble- Dreams. Togawa is generally considered new wave, so synth is where it's at on most of her albums. Maybe try the later stuff like 20th Jun Togawa or Togawa Fiction Anyway (on a completely different note): I'm pretty sure this is how it's meant to be done:

Just found out about (and downloaded) the new Zektbach album. Not quite up to par with his first, or the piano arrange of the first, but it's still solid. Here's something from the first album. You might like this W3iHong.
