This album remains as one of my highest played.
Fukushuu is good. Tsukigime-hime is underrated.

OSCA and KT in their official incarnations both suck.

I only listen to my version of the album, so I dont remember how much the original album sucks.

at the very least, fluffie says Kingyo and kuronekodow are the worst songs on the album.

Kingyo's the best song. I would have been more excited if they released it as a single. And maybe more disappointed. It's hard to tell.
Metro is second.
The rest I've forgotten what they sound like.

These are the best VARIETY era songs, IMO, in no particular order

1. Metro
2. OSCA
3. Tsukigime-hime
4. Kaban no Nakami (Spa and Treatment)
5. Mirror Ball (SOTC V2, definitely not album)
6. BB Queen (SOTC V2)
7. Maybe Sake to Geko

where is the love from Metro coming? that song makes me want to throw up every time I hear it and just start to think of Uki out on an awkward date. I remember Ringo said pretty much exactly the same thing as a joke in a magazine that had liner notes for Variety.

I think it's a cool song, and totally the kind of thing I want Ukigumo to do (Aside from Ichijiku no Hana). It just has this mellow but funky childish cleaning product sound to it.

Looking at those songs, if Sanmon Gossip is REALLY good, then I can totally forgive Shiina Ringo/TJ for VARIETY. I think that if my expectations for Shiina Ringo weren't that high, I'd consider VARIETY a 'cool' album at least.

And plus I hate most of the album versions of the tracks. People hate Spa and Treatment, but when I want to listen to VARIETY, I listen to either SOTC or Spa and Treatment rips. Mirror Ball and BB Queen sound a hundred times better, at least.

Plus, VARIETY doesn't have the lasting appeal of SR's older work.

I'd like Boutomin if it didn't have Ukigumo and Izawa's HORRIBLE VOCALS

Most of the best Variety-era songs didn't even make it on the album. Kaban no Nakami, Karada, and Pinocchio are better than pretty much every song on Variety.
