Maybe they're less original than a lot of her music videos but they look cool!

In the MV of Kamisama Hotokesama there is a lot of elements that were already used in some MVs so it's a bit disappointing though.

So I just read this in a PM sent to me on last.fm (apparantly posted on FB originally) in regards to Kamisama, Hotekesama...

"The characters in the very beginning of this video and the man rapping in the background from 0:26 are the "theme sentence" of Zazen boys. Mukai Shutoku says it in a lot their records and lives. While I really love the collaboration, it does raise some doubt as to if the concept of this song (which is very refreshing from a Ringo fan's perspective) is somehow inspired by Zazen rather than being original. I'll have to listen to it for a while to tell though."

I found it kind of interesting... though don't really know what this person is really talking about... anyone care to elaborate?

I don't know what it sounds like from the perspective of a Zazen Boys fan, but I can't really think of anything in the song that *doesn't* sound like Shiina Ringo. Even the rapping.

Who is the song officially credited to? Just Ringo or Mukai and Ringo?

Just Ringo. Mukai is credited with vocals only.

I'm not sure if "inspired by zazen" means the zazen boys, or the concepts of zazen, but even if there was inspiration involved, I don't find anything inauthentic or unoriginal about ringo having a fried/former collaborator do his usual intro on one of her songs. I haven't been able to look at the lyrics yet, but it for sure sounds great to me.

I don't really get what's it's saying though. :p must have been something she and hironaka (lady host on music station) talked about before...?

"Eh! Hironaka announcer can catch sushi in one go?" With "are you serious" by the ringo self portrait then "it was interesting again today, everyone. Excuse me for intruding." (common polite thing to say when entering someone space)
