The first week sales are out. At #1, Otsuka Ai's album LOVE PiECE sold 208,031 copies - a major drop from her previous album. Tokyo Jihen's album Variety shifted 101,475 copies at #2. Last week's #1, is this week's #3 at 42,771 copies sold - Angela Aki's second major album, TODAY.

Minor notes about the album:
-Please stop calling it a cover album, as only 3 (4?) of the tracks were previously released. The rest are new compositions by the other band members.
-The first pressing was called a "sack" cover, not "sock" - check the Katakana.

I think people mistakenly call it "sock" maybe because when I reported the packaging that is how I spelled it by accident. But I think you will find that if you stop and pronounce サック correctly you will see it sounds more like sock than sack anyways, the "a" should be an "ah" like in father and not the a you hear in sack, so I think this is a completely moot point about pronunciation. I think everyone knows that katakana is hardly accurate when relating back toe English anyways.

this is why linguists use the international phonetic alphabet (IPA) instead of English, because English is a very inaccurate language when it comes to pronunciation

so its a moot point

sack, sock, whatever, piece of crap cardboard that fits over cd sleeve, XD

No, it's still sack. "Saaku".
ソック = sock. "Sooku".
サック is a very common word that I've seen, and translated and known, it's "sack". Check any dictionary. I don't see how it's a very debatable point at all...

You obviously didn't read what I posted. Both are two different words.
ソック (sooku) is the Japanese word for sock.
サック (saaku) is the Japanese word for sack.

サック | サック (n) def.: sack

ソック | ソック (n) def.: sock

So when NeoWing says:
初回盤: サックケース+ギザギザ仕様含む豪華パッケージ

It says "sack case" not "sock case".

I was expecting Tokyo Jihad to use that as an adjective.

besides, try telling Hedo and Op2 Variety is a B-sides album hehe *divert attention and runs away
Above MM SS KZK??? no sir, i'm not daffy.

But I enjoyed utaite and many of the songs are still on regular rotation on my ipod.

B-Sides dammit! Killer tune, while decent, wouldn't be a single on kyoiku or adult. osca is decent only because of its surroundings. There are some songs, after repeated listenings, that i do enjoy, but they are just not up to par with previous output.

It's not a sin to compare albums people. It's in our nature to rank and put everything in its place.

That's not a "shi" between the "so"/"sa" and the "ku." It's a "tsu." So it goes like this:

ソック (sokku) is the Japanese word for .... I don't know, "soak"?
サック (sakku) is the Japanese word for "sack."

The Japanese word for sock is "kutsushita"...."under the shoe." I don't know how to type out kanji here.

Hope that helps!
