^ loved the Kahimi references, but thought that the track was too filled with generic crud. To each his own. Still cool.

M-Flo makes me nostalgic towards the days when I first discovered Japanese music. "How You Like Me Now."

EDIT: How on EARTH has music like this gone out of fashion?? Using Volcano Girls as my example, it has everything you could want in a not "slow song." The vocal melody is snappy and catchy. The instruments are big and powerful and catchy in its own right. The hook encompasses BOTH the music AND the music ("Leave me ~DER-NER-NER~ Lying Here..") How can you NOT want to learn to play guitar and make a band after hearing this song? (and tho I'm not a "lyrics guy," I appreciate their nod to The Beatles' "Glass Onion.")
Mid-90's Alternative is due for a comeback. No more of this operatic Coldplay/Killers bullshit.
Great post. You need to put in a YT link Jihad for the adrenaline rush...
Volcano Girls

I'm going to have to admit this. When I was a 90s indie kid (and indeed since) whenever I dreamt about being in a rock band, they'd have two-part girl harmonies and sound like Veruca Salt (or Lush). They were one of my bands, and easily my favourite American one. I'd need an excuse to hit some keys so we'd throw in the odd piano-house or RnB track but I'd play guitar for the Veruca Salt ones. If only I'd known two girls with the same music taste as me.

I played their debut American Thighs album over and over. I couldn't find my repeat track, Get Back, but could find this one and it still has a class melody and haha I remember this programme... Hope the HQ button works on this one, it needs it badly and I couldn't get it going... *lols at the Sleeper T-shirts anyway*
Number One Blind

*Previews* Ohh, Kahimi Karie. Actually if the m-flo thing had generic crap I generically like that kind of crap .

I have an embarrassing passion for something a bit different but really quite similar.
