Okay, I think I understand. But I think I remember you saying that Zazen Ecstasy had better-than-average audio quality for some reason. I was thinking more along those lines.
So then I have to ask: which is "better", the DVD-rips of the songs from Adult Video, or the iTunes/MP3 versions of those tracks? |

It wasn't as if Zazen Ecstasy was the only downvertable DVD. The rest of the DVDs exceeded CD quality by a small fraction, while Zazen exceeded it by a lot.
As for your question, Every retail DVD they have ever pumped out, could be ripped in some form of lossless at least as rich as what you could get off of a CD (if a CD for that material even existed). This includes all the PV volumes, and the bonus DVDs for Ringo no Uta & Adult Pour Homme - not just the standalone releases. So.. I see no reason to purchase any of the material from iTunes, because their rip couldn't sound any better. I've got retail DVDs (some bonus - some standalone) for Tomosaka Rie, 6 of Asai Kenichi's bands, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, PE'Z, H ZETT M, SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS, TOKIO, PUFFY, Rekishi, and Chiaki Kuriyama - as well as dozens of unrelated Japanese artists. No matter which record label we're talking about, it's all downvertable to CD without the cardinal sin known as lossy transcoding. Even Dynamite In is up-to-grade. Japanese publishers have really been getting a little carried away with this.

Ringo's obsession with headdresses and ukigumo's knack for weird pants.

An update on their homepage states that "32-sai no Wakare" will be included on Tokyo Collection.
EDIT: I just realized that doesn't really matter since you can just rip what will probably be the same performance from the DVD or Blu-ray anyway. I guess the same could be said for the entire album, but I would hope they pull from other things (most obviously the wonderful DOMESTIC! Virgin Line material) besides what we've already heard on their available DVDs since they should have the means. Last edited by BanFan : 2012.01.11 at 10:48 PM. |

"32-sai no Wakare" will probably not be on Discovery, so that's why they'll be putting it on Tokyo Collection.

Either that or it could be a special studio bonus track.
