um, go watch the cake eaters and then we will talk. and the hallmark of bad acting is showing it all on your face. if your a truly talented actor you should be able to convey the emotions churning underneath while trying to keep a cool face, like people actually do in real life. I don't think she acts expressionless, I just think compared to the insane amount of screaming in your face over the top actors she definitely works with a much more subtle and introverted method.

Just a couple more things about the show:
She also performed The Party after Just the Same. I knew I forgot something from that list. Not sure how I forgot this one though as it was also an extended take. There was a nice violin section by Daniel before the ending chorus "ahs" kicked in. That chorus lasted for so long. I wasn't going to say anything about this, but she's absolutely gorgeous in person. Much better than any photograph I've seen of her.

This picture would have been epic if I had a real camera at the time of the show instead of a shitty cell camera:

According to her twitter, she's working on a new album. I'm thrilled about this.

New album, "Strange Mercy", comes out September 13. I'm excited for it, but more excited for another potential tour. I really want to see her live again. Anyway, my favorite St. Vincent songs:
10. The Strangers 9. Now, Now 8. Laughing with a Mouth of Blood 7. Paris is Burning 6. Your Lips Are Red 5. The Apocalypse Song 4. The Party 3. Human Racing 2. Landmines 1. Just the Same But Brand New

I just got an e-mail from ticketmaster about her showing up in my city. I may go to see her!
I already downloaded Surgeon, and it is very good. I'm excited for Strange Mercy. |
