But she did use the Japanese sound-alike lyrics she wrote? That's what's in the lyrics booklet for the single. I guess that's why she's credited as writing the lyrics--technically, she DID write the Japanese sound-alike ones. But yeah, it's just a cheap way of not having to own up to a cover in the end.

Lyrics are almost as interesting to talk about as track titles.

yeah, forget about lyrics, they are just meaningless words, lets all forget about the lyrical work and focus on Ringo's sole instrumental classic, Karisome Otome Hitokuchizaka Vers!

Since we're in the Sanmon Gossip thread talking about lyrics, I'd like to point out that Mittei Monogatari is more effective because of its lyrics.
One of my favourite tracks evar, The Beatles' I Am the Walrus, is also effective because of the lyrics. |

Yeah, the Mittei Monogatari lyrics make the song. Especially the opening lines.

I think Mayakashi Yasaotoko's got really strong lyrics too. The rhyming really impresses me especially the "I recited lines by heart/Scripted by your flawless art". Ooh it gets me all tingly. I think her use English has improved over the years.

Lyrics are just a by-product of using you're voice as an instrument.

I can see that reasoning with scat singing or with Duran Duran where Simon Le Bon specifically states that the lyrics of the song are just gibberish that he thought sounded good together. But Ringo puts thought into her lyrics for a reason. It influences the overall image she has for the song. And especially since she's a very visual artist it's very important to understand that aspect to her artistry.
