A tiny tiny bit maybe. Even so, that's probably what makes them stand out above some of the other suggestions on here. Oh yes, I've been checking a lot of them out :-p

I like King Diamond (and Alice Cooper)!
Other than Gusya Ningen and Uplift Spice, TsuShiMaMiRe is probably my favourite band in this thread. I don't see people discussing them often here for some reason, and I only feel like owning Pregnant Fantasy... GO!GO!7188 are awesome except for the singer, who sounds like Ringo's voice getting stuck in one pitch. :p Last edited by Inseu : 2012.11.17 at 05:27 PM. |

Maybe cause your (and mine) idea of "rock" is something different to other people? The majority of recommendations on here are rock in a pretty western/90s sense of the term to me. It's not a bad thing, but it's not really what you are asking for either, right? Shoulda specified what you liked more first, then asked for similar.

I decided the check out some Japanese music during Christmas...in theory I'm supposed to like most of them. I cannot relate to most of them yet, hope more will grow on me as time passes.

Any of ACIDMAN's original albums up to Life, are better than the compilations.
AJICO was even more of a supergroup than Tokyo Jihen Phase 1. There was simply way too much collective talent in that band for everyone to stay together for long. Dunno where you're starting with JUDE, but they've got 5 original albums, and 3 of those are difficult for me to choose between (if I had to pick a #1). Dirty Animal, Highway Child, and Electric Rainbow are all great. Kojima Mayumi's discography is all good - doesn't really matter if you start at the front or the back. I don't have any experience with Kurahashi Yoeko's compilation, but I can't imagine it's better than her earliest original albums. LOSALIOS is even better in concert than they are in the studio. If you download Aurora Madturn and disagree, then I don't know what else to say to you.

You know Tokyo Jihen is a supergroup, when you can't blame most of the members for wanting to pursue other projects. |
