Well, this is my firends copy. I have a few versions- the first one I got when I was starting out listening to Ringo was a Taiwan version too- but came with none of that extra stuff. Then that disc went walkabout so I ended up ordering the Japanese version for myself. Then I got MoRA and then the vinyl. Fuck I bought this album 4 times.

EDIT:

Thought vinyl shot might be nice too

So did I. I bought both MoRa sets. I couldn't resist the CD set when I saw it in the store. I bought the vinyl at the Ringo Expo show and it's still in the original shrink wrap.

Am I missing something with Tadashii Machi?
Because it seems to be very high regarded, but I don't find it that special.

To me, it just seems like a standard pop-rock song teenage Ringo wrote about missing Fukuoka. I don't really see complexity and I'm not blown away.

Please, can anybody explain why it's so great?

- Fantastic guitar work. Especially in the ending solo.
- Beautiful string section.
- Keys, strings, and multiple guitars add layers to the basic melody.
- Winning key change. Switches from E major to E minor to perfectly convey the change in mood of the song.

^ Plus the lyrics are sooooo fantastic. Especially when you're homesick. It just beautifully oozes how you feel.

^ And the way the lyrics just roll off so superbly, the inner-rhyming (is that what it's called?) right from the first verse of the song. Always makes my heart beat faster.

I'm ripping these vinyls, why oh why didnt they split MM onto 2 discs?!!! The 2 songs on the inner grooves suffer from burn in (I think that's the term- when the grooves are far too close together because they got cheap and tried to fit too much on one side instead of doing it as 2LPs) ending in a bit of distortion/loss of clarity... (and I have tried it on a bunch of players so its not jut mine) Kinda annoying really. Do they not expect people to play it or something?

Luckily none of the other Ringo related LPs have this problem.

Is this PV included on a collection DVD or first-press edition? Because I can't find it:

椎名林檎「積木遊び」PV

By the way, funny how the girl dancing on the right part of the screen is one of those dancers that are still around Ringo even in Bon Voyage. Close friends, I guess.
