That's a good observation... I think she doesn't use wireless mics because of style. With the wires, at least she can have something to do with the other hand that's not holding the mic.
Also, it could be because it's less prone to failure than wireless mics... |

A studio recording would never involve a wireless microphone, and the atmosphere of a concert introduces enough of its own recording problems already, so why make things even worse with wireless?
From a security standpoint, wired microphones are closed-circuit - members of the audience with their own electronics stash (you'd be surprised at how compact things are getting), couldn't tap into the signal for some professional-grade bootlegging. And people couldn't accidentally or deliberately interfere with the signal either. Many organizations with sensitive data, refuse to employ wireless networking for exactly this same line of reasoning, no matter how 'unbreakable' the recent encryption is becoming. Wired microphones are like vinyl LPs (another old school product that Shiina Ringo supports). It has the potential to be more stylish, and the quality is potentially better too, but the mainstream is gravitating more toward convenience-oriented products. Plus if Shiina Ringo were using wireless, she wouldn't have a cool place to stash guitar picks (unless she wants to "pull a Kameda" - except she changes guitars too often to have an abused one), and if she doesn't have lots of spare guitar picks on-hand, that means the audience doesn't receive any.

Unlike most J pop performer, Since SR don't do any big choregraphy dance and what not, she don't really need the wireless now does she?
