Toumei Ningen! Thank you! Starting Over is awesome, but I doubt I'd play it for someone who didn't know her. Especially a Beatles fan. I think the last track is too heavy to come after Souretsu. I like most of this but it needs a strong crowd-pleaser in the middle.
Very nice. I think I'll try this one. Good mix of dark and light, and builds to a strong finish. Not sure I'd put Souretsu that early. And what's with Ringo no Uta at #8? You and teattum both..... It's a lovely song but not a great spine for a mix. I'd switch it with Superstar. Anyway, I'll give it a whirl. |

I chose Ringo no Uta as the song in the very middle simply because it's the middle ground of her career. It's the transition from Ringo to Tokyo Jihen. The overall song selection doesn't represent that, but ah well. Souretsu went early because it goes good after Jusui Negai and the sudden stop ending goes good into Byoushou Public. You know, like BP cuts off Sakana on SS? That's what I was going for.

^^^ looks more like a linear series of bootlegs than a best-of.
Am I the only one who has a brief spasm of surprise when Japanese SR song titles appear in English, making me wonder if these are tracks I just haven't heard yet.....until I realize what they are, when mentally shifted to Japanese..... |
