American Mary was pretty great I reckon. The acting doesn't really matter/is unimportant in a film like this- It's like asking for good acting in a troma film pretty much. Katherine Isabelle is so fucking hot (as she usually is). Kvlt fan here since Ginger Snaps though.

Watched two movies today:
Stoker: well-made, not scary but twisted for a family drama, I like it. 7/10 Mama: I watched Scary Movie 5 so I've seen this before, ok movie. 5/10 |

So, I finally watched Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac in full.
All I gotta say is- no way I'll find a movie that satisfying for a very long time. Every scene had a purpose. It's punchline is unforgettable. Its funny, sad, dark and bleak, and I love every moment it had to offer. Totally enthralled from the start to its climax. I highly recommend this to any serious cinema fan. I see plenty of one star reviews- but they all seem to complain about the same thing 'the sex being TOO real and disgusting'- if you were that prudent, then why the fuck are you watching a movie called NYMPHOMANIAC to start with. Charlotte Gainsbourg has cemented herself (IMO) as the most important actress of her era with this film and the other works she has done with Trier. Uncompromising, daring and unforgettable. I'll be getting this on Blu Ray.

Really enjoyed the Hunger Games, the sequel Catching Fire is not bad either, can't wait for the final movie!

Has any one seen NYMPH()MANIAC by Lars von Trier?
I like Antichrist quite a bit, fell asleep during Melancholia but left unsatisfied with NYMPH()MANIAC. |

A really good recent movie is 20 Feet From Stardom, about backup singers.
There should be a J-rock equivalent. |

Watched this excellent movie called Bad Boy Bubby. Main character seems to be based on Nick Cave.

Just wanted to mention that I think they're splitting the final book into two parts. Just like they did with Harry Potter and Twilight. Hollywood makes their money.
