Yeah, I think she mentioned Hata because of the recent incidents involving him. Also, they ARE close friends.

Also, her use of the Kiki's Delivery Service slogan can be attributed to Hata's love of Ghibli movies (he is SUCH a little kid!)

BTW: I love that TJ is the type of band that can have Pop-Rock cheer songs, 90's RnB, Jazz, Swing, and whatever the hell Tengoku is in one album and MAKE IT ALL FIT. That's probably one of the biggest reasons why I like them.

ahhhh thank god. I really didn't think it was plausible that they were dating. There must have just been a lot of fans wondering "HOW IS HATA" and she answered them.

Weird that this thread isn't blowing up more... usually a new album pulls everyone out of the woodwork and I mean EVERYONE. Maybe because it's mostly perceived as good, people aren't coming to gawk at the hate?? And there aren't any arguments??? I am shocked..... maybe we just all got it out of our systems beforehand.

In any case, I quite like this. I didn't fall in immediate love like with SG but this is largely very, very good. I'm glad I didn't overplay Sora/Onna/etc so those songs could still sound mostly fresh for me.

Must be me and grandmama's trolling that did the job.

If it's any consolation, I hate the album, same as I hate Variety and Sports. I'm not scared of being called a pretentious hipster douche or whatever. It's just too commercial, and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

The only track I like is 08. 恐るべき大人達 (Osorubeki Otona-tachi). It sounds a little golden oldies radio - more 70s than 90s(?), but very decent, like something her brother would sing. Otherwise there are no consolation prizes for me on the level of Kaban no Nakami or FAIR, which I do find genuinely appealing. It was for potentially finding one of those I listened to the album at all.

I'm not a fan of J-rock, which probably doesn't help. Old SR may have been Japanese and rock, but she wasn't conventionally "J-rock".

While I think this album is an improvement over Variety and Sports, I can't help noticing that I feel absolutely no compulsion to listen to it. In fact, it kind of feels like a chore. Also, I think the best cuts on Variety are better than anything here (or Sports). But I seem immune to truly liking any new music this year.

Maybe people aren't talking about it because they are already bored by it?

I like pieces of the sound on this album, specific passages here and there, but not really entire song, let alone the entire album.

This albums ends with Kaze ni Ayakatte Yuke and me rushing to play QOTSA's Era Vulgaris.

I agree 100%

I STILL haven't listened to the whole album.

I find it incredibly unexciting. I think I'm afraid to listen to it and find out that I don't like it.
