I'm not just going to say "ok thats nice", if you say what you dont like about it I dont mind but just saying it sucks is offensive to me so thats why I will argue it. Also, I think this "excessive use of belts" is an overgeneralization. Off the top of my head, the only characters I can think of that had alot of belts are cloud and squall from Kingdom Hearts and Lulu from final fantasy 10. Im not saying that there isnt more, but it is only excessive on some characters, not on his characters as a whole.

Also, I dont know if you said they were gackt wannabes because you knew this already or because it was just a joke, but supposedly squall was modeled after gackt. Check out these pics:

I never played the originals so this news didnt crush me, but I was surprised that this is yet another game that nomura is currently doing character designs for.

You're wrong about Sephiroth controlling Jenova completely. I think you either didn't pay enough attention or read a poor guide. On my older computer I had written my entire theory on Jenova and Sin and the connection between them and the FF7/FFX series but I don't have it anymore sadly. It was more of a chat log than a written theory, actually. Everything Sephiroth did was under the control and plan of Jenova. He did not act on his own AT ALL. He was hardly different from the Numbered Clones that talk about the reunion. Jenova is the game's true villian. Just like Sin essentially wiped out all of the summoners, Jenova wiped out all of the Cetra. The real questions I have about FF7 are moreso things like why do Sin/Jenova come to the planet, what do they intend to do, etc.

Here's a simpler way of thinking about it: Just like Sin controls the summons, Jenova controls Sephiroth. Make sense now?

What do you mean I didn't pay attention or read poor guide? There is no solid proof either way. There are theories for Jenova controlling Sephiroth and vice versa. Just because you believe Jenova is in constant power, doesn't mean all other views are poor and misguided. Heck, even the site you linked me to said "Which one is controlling the other is a matter for discussion, but for now I still think it's Jenova who has overall control." Obviously this guy holds your views, but as he states it is up for discussion. That is a theory site. Not a "This is what happens" site.

Now, I'm not downplaying Jenova's role in the game. Without her, there would be no Sephiroth. However, I think Sephiroth is using her for power and knowledge and the only thing she has over him is influence. I don't think she is controlling him in the sense that he has no will, and she controls his every move. Think of it as female hormones when they [girls] get pregnant. They do weird things, and have weird emotions and cravings but they're still technically in control over their body. I think Sephiroth is acting out Jenova's influences, kinda like a Jenova hormone in him. If that is control, so be it.

Whole point of the thread though, isn't who is the most evil. It is who is the best. The coolest. The most kick-ass. Even if I take the stance that Jenova has all control for a second, Sephiroth still owns her in my eyes because Jenova doesn't look cool, sound cool or have a frickin' giant sword. Actually, I do like the J.E.N.O.V.A. theme. But One Winged Angel pisses on it. And that is why Sephiroth is a better villain, and boss.

Marcellus Wallace is the true villain of Pulp Fiction. But is he the best villain? No. Jules and Vincent own him, just like Sephiroth owns Jenova.

More than one belt is excessive. Yuffie, Zidane, Tifa, Cid Highwind, Vincent, Auron, Ashe, Riku and Rikku all have more than one belt or belt-like accessory. Almost all of his characters have at least one oversized belt on them. And I retract my statement that he sucks. His recent stuff sucks.

Also, I've never said Adult sucks.

I didnt say you said Adult sucks, I just said that I felt it was the same situation as adult where people said ringo was losing her touch or that it sucked just because it was not their kind of genre.

Lol, I know i know, but I think the fact that it has been long running means something. It's not like he had one hit and thats it, he's had success for about a decade now.

I don't remember if amano designed zidane, but I know nomura definately did not. btw, have you seen the redesign nomura did of zidane? or not really redesign, but drawn in his style. for FF dissidia.
