I'm saddened by this news. I think over the years they spent together, there was much creative improvement by other members of the band (at least Uki and Izawa). They also developed several different distinct sounds. But Ringo doesn't belong in a band. I'd be overjoyed to see her return to her solo career, but I'm scared she might be wanting to retire. It seems like we're hearing more about endings and loose ends being tied, rather than new beginnings.

I lol'd. Do you actually like Boris by the way? I found a lot of their work around 2007 or so quite boring and never bothered with them again. Since then I've met 3 people and even became friends with them that love that band. I don't care enough to try them again though.
On-topic: A lot of comments about their albums becoming lesser over time. You guys feel Variety was that much better than Sports? I can't understand how one can feel this way. Is it OSCA? |

Boris are totally up my alley. Try feedbacker and pink if you haven't already, if u don't like them then I guess u might like the newer jpop style. But yeah, feedbacker I really love to bits

To everyone who has enjoyed our band, thank you very much. It was a short journey, but we've always been feeling grateful. Though Jihen is disbanding on the intercalary day, our works will live on. If we die, galvanize us Resurrect us with your playback equipments Farewell! |

For those who can read Chinese, the Taiwanese EMI website has a Chinese translation of the farewell comments by the TJ members. If no direct English translation is forth coming, I can translate these into English when I have time.
[Edit 1: added translation for Izawa]

I think Ringo next project is to resurrect her all-female band, but this time with slightly different members:

That mischievous glint there lololol Shiina found some new playthings? Nakata won't mind I'm sure. Is that screenshot from Super live by the way? I still haven't watched.
But if she is actually going to do the pop producer for hire thing, I'd like HZM to put Takahashi Hitomi name on a piece of paper in her shirt pocket- with hope of her never going near Chiaki again. That last album of Hitomi's had some real noteworthy names attached to (including HZM) and even as I type this I don't feel there was a track on their that anyone posting actively on this thread would listen to more than once. |
