Also, Animal Collective is really good. I like them. Now, if you were talking about Neon Neon... |

I've been listening quite a bit to this compilation. I particularly like Morena y Clara. (This is not salsa, incidentally.)

i finally discovered korean music that is non cheesy kpop, and i love it like i first discovered japanese music about five years ago can't even remember, it was mika nakashima - seppun,
although i got a guilty pleasure for kara - mister (oh god) but this korean girl got so much talent and she really feels the music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR0NNRXJJho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3P_HuKqlS4 |

There's a lot of Korean music that isn't cheesy K-Pop.
I love Epik High. They do alternative Hip-Hop, but it's very good and one of the few "artists" out there left in Hip-Hop. I also like Clazziquai Project; they do jazzy electronica music. Think Mondo Grosso with a male and female vocalist. Anyways, currently LOVING this
I know how a lot of people on this forum feel a bout salyu (that she's a Shiina rip-off, which I completely agree with), but I feel like her new album is more about Cornelius than salyu. It's really good, Cornelius is attempting to do something like Bjork's Medulla, and it is actually really good. Last edited by TurtleFu : 2011.04.16 at 06:20 AM. |

In any case, I really enjoyed "Tada no tomodachi", "Sailing days", "Muse'ic", and I look forward to listening to the whole of "s(o)un(d)beams". Last edited by D.K.Liu : 2011.04.16 at 06:59 AM. |

From what I've heard, salyu is trying really hard to do the artsy-rock of Shiina, but considering she has none of the "art" to support it (she doesn't write her own songs or even produce her won albums like Yuki), it comes off as really insincere. She's basically an idol version of Shiina.

^ I never thought of comparing them, too. And I'm not even into her solo stuff, I found "TERMINAL" sooo boring, whereas "s(o)un(d)beams" is basically a Cornelius album with Salyu on vocals.
By the way, I'm listening to some lovely Saint-Saëns:

It's difficult not to have Kara as a guilty pleasure. Who can resist the butt dance? On top of that, Nicole is one of the most appealing women women I've ever seen.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I don't care about salyu, I'm there for Cornelius. And he is still awesome.
